Volunteers

Our volunteers play a vital role in assisting with the smooth running of the Hospital. We currently have a number of regular volunteers who are involved in the following:

We recognise the value that our volunteers bring to the Hospital and the commitment they readily offer. In return we provide a safe and enriching environment where each volunteer is encouraged to develop their particular strengths whether this be engaging with patients either in conversation or through ward activities, by helping at fundraising events, or by dealing with visitor enquiries at the Hospital’s reception desk.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact Francesca Clent at francesca@ryehospital.org.uk or on 01797 228842 for an informal chat about what you feel you can offer Rye Hospital. You will then be offered a taster session shadowing one of our experienced volunteers in your particular area(s) of interest.

I enjoy the contact with people from all walks of life. I am part of an enthusiastic committee who are eager to raise money for the hospital and provide additional amenities and items to facilitate the patients needs.

We hope that you will find the experience rewarding and enjoyable but there is no obligation to
commit to becoming a volunteer if you feel that it is not right for you.

If you are happy to continue your application to become a volunteer, your details will be passed to Cathy Prior who is one of the Voluntary Services Coordinators at the Conquest Hospital. She will process the necessary checks, including a DBS check, which are required for all volunteers working within the Hospital building.

Our Volunteer Policy is available here.

If you are interested in becoming involved in our various Fundraising events, please contact our Company Secretary, Francesca Clent, at fundraising@ryehospital.org.uk. We welcome all contributions, whether it be baking a cake or two, running a stall, marshalling an event or collecting donations.
There are many ways for everyone to contribute!
